CLAUDIA SALGUERO

Salguero's contributions to the arts and cultural scene in Ottawa have earned her awards and accolades, and she continues to be a prominent figure in the city's multicultural landscape. Through her art and activism, she strives to promote dialogue, empathy, and solidarity across different communities and cultures.

Some of her clients include: Howard Johnson Society, Ottawa Community Housing, Boys and Girls Ottawa, Recovery Clinic, School of Social Work Carleton University, Ottawa School Board, Ottawa Public Library, Red Apron, Tanger Outlets Ottawa, Amnesty International, Petro-Canada.

Claudia is member of the Arts Network Ottawa’s Board of Directors, MASC artist, and ELAN artist.

She is also a Latin Folk and Jazz singer who has been raising funds for kids’ foundations in her home country Colombia through her annual sold-out concerts at the Ottawa’s National Arts Centre since 2011.

Claudia Salguero is a Colombian-Canadian artist and cultural promoter based in Ottawa, Ontario. She is known for her vibrant and expressive murals, which explores themes of identity, culture, and social justice. Salguero is also actively involved in the local arts community, supporting events and movements that celebrate diversity and promote cross-cultural understanding.

Salguero is passionate about using art as a tool for social change and community empowerment fostering creativity, resilience, and connection. She has led community art initiatives and workshops, with youth, newcomers, and marginalized communities. These initiatives include the creation of the two tallest murals in Ottawa: "The Wisdom Mural", and “Transformation, the WOW Mural” and also “Canadian Pride, Harmony in Cultures Mural” as part of Canada’s 150 Anniversary official celebrations. She has created more than 80 murals in collaboration with social institutions in Ottawa's Capital Region.
